Ibnu Taimiyah's Islamic Educational Thinking

This research explores the Islamic educational thought of Ibn Taimiyah, a prominent scholar whose views remain relevant in addressing the moral, spiritual, and intellectual challenges of contemporary education. Ibn Taimiyah emphasized a holistic educational model that integrates faith (tawhid), moral character, and social responsibility, rather than focusing solely on cognitive development. Through a qualitative library research approach, the study analyzes Ibn Taimiyah’s original works and related literature to understand his concept of education, educational goals, methods, and principles. The findings show that Ibn Taimiyah advocates for education that balances knowledge and good deeds, guided by teacher exemplars and rooted in Islamic values. His thoughts provide a philosophical and methodological framework applicable to current educational contexts, especially in forming a generation with noble character and strong spiritual integrity amid globalization
